Remastering 'The Straight & Narrow' Begins

I'm beyond thrilled to share some special news.

Remastering has officially begun on my very first short film, The Straight & Narrow.

Originally released in 2017, this deeply personal story follows Tony (Thomas Beatty) as he returns to his childhood home after a stint in prison, confronting long-held silences with his estranged father, Arthur (Grahame Edwards). It’s a quiet, emotional piece about the things we don’t say. About fathers and sons, reconciliation and that very British brand of emotional repression.

This film means the world to me and it feels incredibly special to be revisiting it nearly a decade later. Thanks to rapid advances in accessible filmmaking technology, we’re finally in a position to give The Straight & Narrow the remaster it deserves. Sharper visuals, cleaner sound and all the love we didn’t have the budget for the first time around.

We're aiming to re-release the remastered version in time for its 10th anniversary in 2027 and I can’t wait to share it with a new audience, and reconnect with those who saw it the first time around.

In the meantime, I’m excited to unveil something brand new: an official poster created by the incredibly talented Haven Bear. It's striking, beautifully atmospheric and captures the soul of the film perfectly. We absolutely love it and I hope you will too.

More updates soon but for now, thank you for being part of this journey.
